How does BandUp work?
BandUp runs a mock IELTS Speaking test on your phone. An AI examiner asks the questions out loud, you answer with your voice, and the app keeps the real exam timings. When the mock ends you get an estimated band score for each of the four criteria, with feedback quoting what you actually said.
How accurate is the band score?
It is an AI estimate built to be consistent above all: the same performance should get the same band every time. It is deliberately not flattering, because a score that tells you what you want to hear is useless on exam day. Treat it as practice guidance, not an official result.
Is BandUp free?
Yes, to start. Every day you get a free short mock (a Part 1 interview of about five minutes) with your band score, and your first full three-part mock is free too. Invite a friend and you both earn another free full mock. Premium adds full mocks — up to 60 a month — plus the detailed report and pronunciation analysis.
What does Premium include?
Premium comes as a monthly or a three-month subscription, and includes up to 60 full mocks per month. You can also unlock a single full report with a one-time purchase. Google Play shows the price in your local currency; subscriptions can be cancelled any time.
How long is the IELTS Speaking test?
The real test takes 11 to 14 minutes in three parts: a 4–5 minute interview (Part 1), a long turn with one minute of preparation and up to two minutes of speaking (Part 2), and a 4–5 minute discussion (Part 3). A BandUp full mock follows the same structure and timings.
Can I practise IELTS Speaking on my own?
That is exactly what BandUp is for. Most people preparing alone never speak out loud until the exam itself. With BandUp you answer a real examiner-style conversation by voice, so you practise the skill that is actually tested: speaking under time pressure.

What happens to my voice recordings?
They are used to transcribe and score your mock and to build your progress history. They are never sold or used for advertising, and you can delete your account and all your data at any time.
